Four vie for three city council seats

Four candidates will battle for three at-large posts on the Wishek City Council during the June 10 city election.

The City Council field includes incumbents Larry Wald and Sonya Schumacher, along with Jay Kamletz and Walter Mehlhaff. Incumbent Mitch Bosch did not file a petition of intent to seek re-election.

Mehlhaff has previous City Council experience, having served several years ago, while Kamletz is a former city police officer.

Wishek residents also will fill two vacancies on the Park Board. Incumbent Daren Kurle and Kamletz are candidates, while incumbent Darren Deile did not file for re-election.

The City Council and Park Board seats are for four-year terms, according to City Auditor Sandy Paulus.
